Smart water solutions for a more sustainable world

ComBus’ innovative IoT solutions measure water levels to detect drought, flood risk and non-revenue water anomalies.

Through the deployment of underground poles, ComBus is taking a step towards a new market on its network in the Netherlands and Belgium. Submersible Hydrostatic Level and Absolute sensors measure the water level in different geographical areas on Entropia's 70,000 Km2 network to detect drought or flood risk.

The advanced sensor technology, which must provide data for more than ten years after installation (the average lifespan of a meter), equips cities and utility companies with real-time data allowing them to quickly identify issues, predict changes, recognise trends, and meet the ever-increasing demands of the consumer.

This technology is already proving valuable as utility companies can detect leaks, tampering, loss of pressure, reverse flow and other issues in real-time enabling them to respond efficiently to protect this valuable resource. Reacting fast saves money, and these savings can then be passed on to the customer.

ComBus continually innovates to develop groundbreaking technologies to secure a future where we use our resources efficiently and work smarter. "Water sensors, electricity switches, gas detection: it is infrastructure that we will be making smart in the coming years," says Entropia CEO Philip Vercruysse.

Vercruysse founded The Entropia Group, followed by ComBus Technologies. When Entropia first launched it successfully secured a contract from the United Nations to set up networks in East Africa. In 1997 it left the market to focus on Europe; to improve critical mission communications, to enhance living standards through the use of IoT and to create safer communities by guaranteeing connectivity at all times.
